I’ve been a fan of Brian Hardin’s Daily Audio Bible since a friend introduced me to it in February. If you haven’t discovered this app, check it out. Listening to consecutive selections from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs is a great way to start the day. So I was excited to be selected for this blog tour.

In Passages, Hardin first tells his story of how he came to read and record the Bible daily. He’s quite a storyteller, so the first chapter was captivating. It was fun to read how he accidentally fell into his ministry, even while trying to build a career in the music industry. And how God has blessed his ministry beyond his expectations. He also describes the ever-growing number of listeners around the world who have become a part of the Daily Audio Bible community.

The rest of the book gives a compelling, but somewhat redundant, apologetic of why listening to the Word (as opposed to silently reading it) is important to your spiritual growth. If you aren’t familiar with this spiritual practice, I think you’ll enjoy reading about it, and then subscribing to the Daily Audio Bible to experience it. Your small group might enjoy reading this book this summer, and then committing to reading (or listening) through the bible in a year.
