Keep it Small–Again
March 3, 2008 | Comments Off
This seems to be my mantra lately. Probably because I keep seeing the effects of groups that have grown too big.
I’m preparing my workshops for the Bay Area Sunday School Convention (BASS) for this coming weekend, and noticed that I have something about “keep it small” in all of them. Must be important. I just ran across this quote that I’m using in “From Here to Maturity,” which is one of my favorite workshops to do:
“The number of people with whom we can be related casually in a particular grouping can be quite large. However, the number of people with whom we can be ‘in community’ is necessarily small. It is a relationship in which I can come to be known and be known in depth.”

If you live in the SF Bay area, be sure to come to BASS. You can see a listing of all the general sessions and workshops here. Search for my name under workshops and you’ll see the schedule of the four I’m doing. If you are there, please come up and introduce yourself. I love to meet my readers.
