Communty at Mt. Hermon

April 1, 2007 |

I’m at the Mt. Hermon Christian Writers Conference near Santa Cruz, CA this week. It’s a wonderful, exhilarating, and emotionally and physically exhausting five days. With over 450 registrants and faculty, there are many old friends to catch up with and many new friends to make.

We’ve been challenged and stimulated by many wonderful speakers, especially Dick Foth, the keynote speaker. He’s been talking about sharing our history, and its importance in and to community. To the idea of knowing and being known. We simply cannot succeed in our writing or in life without being known.

It’s been especially fun for me since I received my shipment of books the day before I left, so have been able to show off Why Didn’t You Warn Me?
The concept, cover, and interior design have received rave reviews. Everyone who has seen it can immediately think of the challenging person they want it for.

How about you? Who is the challenging person in your group? Would you like to learn to minister more effectively to this person—without losing your patience or your mind? The book will ship to bookstores on Monday. I hope you’ll make a special trip or call to your local Christian bookstore and ask for it.
