Kendi Tremmel, a small group leader at National Community Church in Washington, DC. shares some of those things that no one ever warned her about. Although she’s talking about junior high leadership, leading adult small groups isn’t much different. Here are the headers. Read the whole post here.

  1. When stepping into leadership, don’t expect reward or acknowledgment beyond the joy and knowledge that you are leading because God is working through you.
  2. On the other hand, never be afraid to recognize a job well done.
  3. Plan times to Rest, Reflect, and Recharge.
  4. Duck.
  5. It’s okay to say, “I don’t know.”
  6. Sometimes the best advice to give is none at all.
  7. The point of church leadership is to work yourself out of a job.

Just to clarify, Kendi IS talking about adult small group leadership here! :) This post was actually first published on www.zonegathering.com, which is our online community for small group leaders at National Community Church. The article was later picked up and published by the guys over at the junior high blog.

    Love your blog here!
